Soft tissue refers to non-epithelial tissue excluding the skeleton, joints, central nervous system, hematopoietic and lymphoid tissues. Tumors arising in soft tissue, form a varied and complex group that may show a wide range of differentiation. There are more than 50 different tumor entities that make these tumors fairly complex and diagnostically challenging. These tumors account for <1% of all adult tumors and 15% of paediatric tumors.
