A STUDY OF PERCEIVED WORK STRESS AMONG POLICE STAFF FROM CENTRAL INDIA

ABSTRACT
This study examined the work stress levels in police officers from Sawangi and Wardha police station of Maharashtra. The participants were surveyed cross-section ally through the questionnaire distributed to them after the necessary instructions. A police job stress survey consisted of organizational job stress, events at work, coping strategies and physical outcomes. The results of survey found that the overall stress among police personnel was less and they adopted cognitive coping strategies with various physical illnesses among them. Thus administrators need to take steps to reduce stress further and to improve performance of staff.
