A BRIEF REVIEW OF PALITYA LEPA W.S.R. TO AYURVEDA SAMHITA GRANTHA

ABSTRACT
Palitya is one of the health hazards as per the cosmetic disaster. According to Modern science palitya is considered as greying of hairs or canitis. Premature greying could be the exhaustion of melanocytes capability to produced hair pigmentation. Aim of the present study to compile detailed study of palitya as per Ayurveda and modern science and review of palitya treatment from different Samhita grantha. In Ayurveda Samhita grantha palitya treatment specify in the form of nasya and lepa. There is not specify any treatment in the form of oral administration. But Palitya is a condition in which pitta is aggrevated and Vaidya have to be given pittashamak treatment. According to Yogratnakara Grantha Palitya nidan, Lakshana, Doshaj bhed and treatment is briefly explained in the form of Nasya and lepa. For Palitya in Sharangdhar Samhita Indravaruni Beej Taila abhyanga and other dravya lepa is administered. According to Bhaishajya Ratnavali, Chakradatta Lepa apply after mundana and Kadali and Arkapatra veshtan is Given or Triphala quath prakshalana is given. Total 35 no of drugs are used for Palitya in the form of lepa and nasya. In this paper all drugs rasa, guna, virya, vipaka, karma explained briefly. Detailed study will have to be carried out as a Clinical and Experimental study.
