ABSTRACT

Ayurvedic diagnosis is a comprehensive process directed towards understanding both the disease (Roga) and the individual in whom it manifests (Rogī). Rather than relying solely on presenting symptoms, it considers the involved Doṣa, affected Dūṣya and Srotas, the relevant Sthāna/Āśaya, and the sequence of disease formation (Samprāpti). The Nidāna Pañcaka—Nidāna, Pūrvarūpa, Rūpa, Upaśaya, and Samprāpti—provides a systematic framework for understanding disease from its causative factors to its clinical expression and pathogenesis.
