Virechana is one of the fiv e main Ayurvedic detoxification therapies that focus on removing excess Dosha and cleansing the body of waste through controlled vomiting. The effectiveness and safety of Virechana depend greatly on the correct choice of Anupana (vehicle) used for drug adm inistration purpose. In general, lukewarm water is the most widely used Anupana , but other options such as milk, Ghrita , herbal decoctions, meat soup, grape juice and saline mixtures may be selected depending on requirements.
