ABSTRACT
Burn injuries often result in scarring that compromises both function and aesthetics, creating a pressing need for effective and safe therapeutic agents. Tectona grandis (teak) leaves, traditionally used in herbal medicine, possess notable anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and wound-healing properties. The bioactive constituents, including flavonoids, tannins, and terpenoids, contribute to enhanced tissue regeneration, collagen synthesis, and scar modulation. Preliminary studies and ethnomedicinal evidence suggest that topical formulations derived from Tectona grandis leaves may accelerate healing, minimize scar formation, and improve skin repair. This review highlights the potential of Tectona grandis as a natural remedy for burn scar healing and underscores the need for further in vivo and clinical investigations to validate its therapeutic efficacy.
