ABSTRACT
Tedizolid phosphate is a next
generation oxazolidinone antibiotic developed to address the growing challenge of
multidrug resistant Gram positive bacterial infections, particularly those caused by Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)
and Enterococcus species (VRE). Structurally optimized for enhanced potency and safe ty, it demonstrates superior
pharmacokinetics and reduced toxicity compared to its predecessor, linezolid. Tedizolid is FDA appro ved for acute
bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI), offering once daily dosing over a shorter 6 day regimen.
This review covers its chemical profile, mechanism of action, clinical development timeline, CDSCO approval in
India, and therapeu tic use. Furthermore, a detailed discussion is provided on validated HPLC methods for its
quantification, including method development, validation parameters, and chromatographic conditions. Tedizolid
