ABSTRACT
Glipizide (GPZ) is chemically 1cyclohexyl[[p[2(5methylpyrazinecarboxamido) ethyl] phenyl] sulfonyl] urea, is an oral antihyperglycemic agent. Glipizide is primarily used as a first line treatment for type II diabetes mellitus to control blood glucose level. Glipizide is used to improve glycaemic control primarily by stimulating glucose-mediated incretin increased insulin secretion and decreased glucagon release, resulting in a lower risk of hypoglycaemia. This review focuses on recent advances in analytical techniques for estimating glipizide by various analytical method. The parameters were validated according to ICH guidelines in terms of accuracy, precision, robustness, ruggedness, and other components of analytical validation.
