THE EFFECT OF PANCHAPRASTRUTIKA BASTI IN MUKHADUSHIKA: A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT
Mukhadushika is most common problem among adolescents. Acne vulgaris is a condition which is characterised by inflammatory and noninflammatory lesions, it affects pilosebaceous follicle. Mukhadushika affects the facial beauty of person. Mukhadushika is commonly treated by vamana, virechana & shamana aushadhis but not mainly by basti. In this study, panchaprasrutika basti made of Godugdha, Goghrita, Makshika, Tila taila & Saindhava was administered to the patient to see the effectiveness of Basti in Mukhadushika. The study was carried out on a male patient aged 17 years presenting with complaints of acne over bilateral cheeks, forehead, burning sensation over bilateral cheeks, discoloration of skin, constipation for last 3 years. Basti helps in pacifying the vitiation of Pitta, Kapha & Rakta and thus helps in relieving the symptoms of Mukhadushika in the patient along with shamana aushadhis.
