ABSTRACT
Background: Starting in the 2000s, studies on Laserlipolysis began to emerge, in which the action of the laser guided by a cannula was not associated with liposuction. Objective: The present study aimed to describe the fundamentals that guide the practice using subdermal endolaser technique with the use of cannulas without suction in the treatment of aesthetic dysfunctions. Material and Methods: This study is an exploratory research, presented through a narrative review. The review explored scientific articles, published and available in the following databases: MEDLINE (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online), PubMed (National Library of Medicine), SCIELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), LILACS (Literature from Latin America and the Caribbean in Health Sciences) and Google Scholar. In addition, data regarding the authors' clinical experience by using subdermal Endolaser technique with cannulas were added to this study. Results and Discussion: We found that endolaser technique with a cannula is justified by the fact that the cannula provides actions such as: keeping the fiber in the most appropriate subcutaneous plane, protecting the fiber against microfractures, enabling better agility in repositioning the optical fiber inside the adipose tissue between one turn and another, generating greater mechanical trauma in the adipose tissue (creation of “channels”), breaking the subcutaneous fibrotic tissue during the insertion of the optical fiber with the cannula, and allowing greater reach of the optical fiber in the fatty tissue (depending on the size of the cannula). Conclusion: It was possible to conclude that the use of endolaser associated with the use of cannula is an excellent, safe and effective option in the treatment of aesthetic dysfunctions.
