Sadeq Hamood Saleh Azzam and Mohamed Afzal Pasha*
The objective of the review is to describe the synthesis and applications of some important substituted imidazoles which are found to exhibit medicinal value in recent years because of their bioactivity. Imidazole and its derivatives are important in the drug discovery. It occurs in purines & in histidine which is a proton source in the biochemical transformations, and as a part of many natural products such as: pilocarpin alkaloids and corrin based vitamin B12.
